Art Salad by No Guts No Glory

Things in the café are about to get a little groovy. Fore Street art collective No Guts No Glory (NGNG) have put together a number of graphic and illustrative works within a theme titled Art Salad. You may already know of NGNG as they are one of Exeter's most exciting independents with their vibrant store based in Fore Street.
The very talented artists exhibiting include Becca Allen, Jack Teagle, Kristyna Baczynski, Owen Gent, Philip Harris and Jamie Morrison, the majority of which are locally based. Here are a few biographies to whet your appetite.
Becca Allen (image featured right) is a freelance graphic designer and illustrator from Exeter. Her mix of bold graphics and illustration applies itself well to her chosen field of fashion and editorial work.
Jack Teagle is a freelance illustrator, painter and comic artist from Cornwall. His comic style portrays a unique sense of humour which Jack says he picked up living in a remote area. His studio is within a shipping container in a field in Newquay.
Owen Gent is an artist and illustrator from Exeter. Owen’s work is often steeped in feeling, earthy palates with natural themes dominating. The general feel of his work is one of organic unity.
Phillip Harris is an Illustrator and apprentice Tattoo Artist from Devon. Working with dip pen & ink Phil creates intricate illustrations inspired by the Edwardian and Victorian eras.
No Guts No Glory is a collective of illustrators and designers that share a D.I.Y ethos and care about the environment. The No Guts No Glory shop is stocked to the brim with organic t-shirts, prints, cards, independent magazines and arty gifts all made by independent illustrators and collectives - this is great design that doesn't cost the earth.
