Bronwen Tyrrell at the Real Food Cafe
Autumn 2015
Bronwen began her higher education in the city of Truro where she explored a variety of creative subjects such as photography, art, textiles and life drawing. This was then followed by her Art foundation year at Falmouth college of Art. In need of new stimulation she then set her sights on the urban prospects of London and began a Fine Art degree at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, situated in the very groin of the city; stimulating Soho.
Throughout the three years spent there she was involved in various group collaborations, including large-scale mural commissions, group shows, arts council funded projects and assignments with secondary schools. The influence of her travelling through South-East Asia, Europe and America also became key elements in her work and remains a strong resource for current themes.
Brownwen is now based just down the road from us in Newtown. Her work is influenced by urban themes as well as the force of nature, and her most recent paintings, the triptych entitles "Le Boeuf-Canard" are about her awareness of the ethics surrounding the food industry.The driving force behind Bronwen's work is "a desire to bring back the childhood magic and dreams we all quietly see and believe in".
